The Issues We’re Facing

One of the primary concerns of the Bristol Democratic Committee is the growing effort by outside groups — particularly those with outside interests — to dismantle the values and institutions that have long defined small towns like Bristol.

What We Stand For

For generations, the people of Bristol have worked together to create a safe, welcoming place to raise families, educate children, and foster community. Our strong sense of civic duty has helped us improve our parks, support our local schools, and preserve the shared spaces that make our town special.

A Way of Life Under Threat

But that way of life is now under threat.

In 2008, under the leadership of [NAME], a coordinated and well-funded campaign was launched to flood New Hampshire with so‑called “Free Staters.” These individuals exploit the “Live Free or Die” spirit to promote a radical libertarian agenda — one that chips away at public institutions and undermines our community’s well‑being.

Understanding the Free State Project

The Free State Project is not just an idea — it is a calculated movement. Its goals include eliminating public education, slashing access to healthcare, and removing essential oversight and regulation — all in the name of “freedom.”

But this version of “freedom” leaves too many behind. It erodes the social contract that has sustained our towns for over a century.
