Public Education: Defending the Heart of Our Community
In Bristol, public education is more than just a system—it’s the heart of our community. Our local schools, part of the Newfound Area School District, provide transparency, citizen engagement, and public oversight. They’ve earned our support because they’re committed to what matters most: educating all of our children, regardless of background or income.
But that system is now under attack.
Instead of working to strengthen and improve public education, external forces in New Hampshire are pushing a statewide agenda to dismantle it. They’ve expanded a so-called “voucher” program that diverts critical funding away from our public schools—funding our students and teachers desperately need. The result? Local schools will face devastating budget cuts, and Bristol families will be forced to bear the burden through higher property taxes.
This is the wrong direction for our town, our children, and our future.
We stand for a robust, well-funded, and transparent public school system—one that serves every child in our community, not just a privileged few. We will support candidates who fight for public education, and we will speak out against efforts to weaken it.
Because when public schools succeed, our whole community thrives.
